Voice Actor, Podcast Host
I've always acted, though not professionally. I tried to break into Hollywood when I was younger and lived in the LA area, but that idea was over before it really got started. Flash forward 30 years, and this D&D Dungeon Master Who Does All the Voices decided that, as an empty nester, it was time to pursue something creative again. So I jumped into voice acting a couple of years ago. I'm not about to quit my day job, but voice acting has brought me back to the joy of acting.
Now for the personal side of my story. I've always been a twitchy guy, self-concious and embarassed at times about my inability to control them somtimes, but never depressed about it. I just never knew why I had tics until about 15 years ago when I finally figured out, with my doctor's help, that I have Tourette Syndrome. Just knowing what I have have took such a burdon off my shoulders. I don't have corprolalia, so I don't curse uncontrollably, which is the public's general perception of everyone with Tourette's. But it is still difficult at times, and something I wish I didn't have to deal with. I know I, with TS, I'm not destined to be in front of the camera, but it doesn't hinder me from being behind the mic. I'm sometimes hyper aware of my tics while I'm watching myself host my podcast, but Mitch & I are 100 episodes in so I guess it doesn't bother me too much!
